Historical Research & Publication Society
The Historical Research & Publication Society (HRPS) welcomes your submissions of your sole-authored manuscripts of historical research articles and posters. Any historical topic, ancient or modern, domestic or foreign, is welcomed. Both your history course work at Lawrenceville and historical research outside Lawrenceville are welcomed. Please follow our submission guidelines. To encourage grade-9 students to submit and publish their work, we are eager to provide extra support.
Historical research articles:
Articles should be at least 1,000 words in the body (excluding bibliography and footnotes).
Titles should not exceed 100 characters (including spaces).
Use Turabian (Chicago) style for footnotes and bibliography.
Use only Arabic numerals for footnotes, not Roman numerals.
Place URLs in the bibliography whenever possible.
Use only Times New Roman throughout your articles.
Use 12-point font size in the title, body, and bibliography of your article. A smaller font size in the footnotes is allowed.
Use 1.5-line spacing.
You may use any font styles (bold, italic, superscript, etc.) within that single font family.
No charts, photos, graphs or other graphics in articles.
The article file must be in MS Word format.
The filename of your document should be your first, last name, and class year followed by an underscore and the first 5 words of your article title.
Historical research posters:
The poster file must be in PDF format.
Your posters should have titles not exceeding 100 characters (including spaces).
A bibliography under the Turabian (Chicago) style must be included in a separate file in MS Word format.
Feel free to include any charts, photos, graphs, other graphics, font styles and sizes in your posters.
Use 12-point Times New Roman in the bibliography of your posters.
The filename of your document (in PDF and MS WORD format) should be your first, last name, and class year followed by an underscore and the first 5 words of your article title.
